Monument, which saw the most housing permits by Pikes Peak Regional Building Department in 2023 at 278, had to temporarily suspend new Land Development Code applications until the end of January so that they could catch up on the large number of pending applications, which included large and complex developments.
New residential areas include Home Place Ranch near Black Forest; Willow Springs Ranch, a 214-acre neighborhood north of Forest Lakes and west of I-25, with easy access to the interstate; and Monument Junction, a Classic Homes community located just east of I-25 along Jackson Creek Parkway.
